Lady of Fashion

This little hangie started life as a throw a way lid at an estate sale. The image was from a 1917 magazine, The Delineator--always a wonderful source of old ads and images. Then, after painting it black, I just added other bits and bobs such as an embroidery wrapper, stick pin, the label from an old needle package, a French flash card (habiller), metal bobbin, some beads and a paper bobbin to hang off the bottom, and my favorite tiny red ball fringe around the edge.

  1. Oh, I just love the Delinator Magazines! I have one from 1910 that I am hoarding - its just so special. I think your hangie is wonderful, especially with all the "bits and bobs"! I look forward to meeting you at Silver Bella
